Non residents invited to anticipate their return

Mis à jour le 19/03/2020

Laurent PREVOST, High Commissioner of the Republic in New Caledonia, asked persons currently residing in New Caledonia to make arrangements to anticipate their return to their homes as soon as possible.

The decisions taken by the President of the Republic concerning international travel and the first two proven cases of persons infected with Covid-19 in New Caledonia have led to major restrictions on air transport.

While territorial continuity will remain assured with the Metropolis, air links will gradually be sharply reduced. The conditions of use of these routes for passengers will be specified by the High Commissioner on the morning of Thursday 19 March.

Persons wishing to leave New Caledonia, including to France, are invited to contact the airlines as a matter of priority to make travel arrangements.

In addition, the Office of the High Commissioner has set up a public information unit for persons who may encounter difficulties in organizing their international travel. It can be contacted from Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 26 63 26.
